Happy Spring!

HELLO SCRAPGURLS, Hope everyone has been happily scrapping! I have been super busy working on two albums, participating in swaps on the Creating Keepsakes forums, and recovering from a spring break beach trip. I need to rest, but have so much scrappy goodness to work on. I am going to start teaching classes locally and I am working on my projects and techniques to present. If you have any ideas on organizing, class sizes, class packets, etc. send me the info. I've done a few classes but I want to provide a good variety. I think I will start with a simple 2-page layout and work towards completing an album over the 4 week class period. I also want to introduce some techniques, handmade embellishments, masking, and YES my mind is working overtime. Today I'm posting a couple of pages from the album I recently completed. Hope you like them. Keep scrapping Gurls!

HAPPY HEART HEALTH DAY SCRAPGURLS!!

Good Morning Scrapgurls, and it is a great morning. I am finally over the flu like illness I had , UGH!! Feels like a totally scrappy, crafty weekend to me and I am mentally working on what I can get done this weekend. I am going to post one of my favorite pages, without the photo, that I made using a Kaisercraft diecut page. I used some silk flowers, tulle bows, paper flowers, bling, brads, and Stickles to make it really pretty. It's titled "Mother & Daughter". Let me know what you think and I will be posting more tonight. Don't forget to wear red in support of Women's Heart Health today. Keep Calm and Scrap Gurls!! Ginny

Hi Scrapgurls!! Hope everyone had a great week and decent weather. We had about 4 inches of rain Saturday night and woke up to freezing cold (37 degrees)!! This is super cold for this time of year in my part of Texas. So, I got to scrap weed out my stash and I finished an album for a coworker.
I'm posting some of my layouts to see what you think. I am new to the blogworld and hope I can learn from my fellow Scrapgurls! Right now I am loving WEBSTER'S PAGES and MY MIND'S EYE PRODUCTS. HAVE A HAPPY SCRAPPY WEEK!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Ok, SCRAPPY CRAFTERS, I'm going to try this one more time. Blogging, that is, faithfully twice a week or more. I have been so busy with the holidays, college graduation, cruising , and crafting that I let my blog dreams drift away. My One Little Word this year is -DETERMINATION!. I AM DETERMINED TO CRAFT MORE AND POST MORE. I am starting by posting a picture of an altered tray that I did for fun. I got the tray from Hobby Lobby and used various papers and ribbons from my stash. I used papers from My Mind's Eye, Tim Holtz Tickets, doilies from my stash, flowers from I Am Roses, bling from Prima and Michaels, various ribbons, and other trinkets from my stash. The colors are various shades of pink and brown. And I used my Cricut to cut out the heart used in a section of the tray. Hope You like it!

30 year Vow Renewal

Hello Scrappers, I've been busy planning my vow renewal ceremony which was held on July 27th. I am so DIY and had to do everything- bargain shop for decorations, make invites, make centerpieces, make the cupcake tower, purchase all the food, and make all the labels and signs for the ceremony !! It was a job but I did it , and it was a beautiful ceremony. Now, I'm back to creating, which is my passion. I got a Gypsy for my birthday and have been furiously working with it and trying to use my Bind-It-All after having it almost nine months. I have so much to post and Can't wait to get back to scrap business as usual. I'll post pics this weekend and get my posts and projects up regularly. I'm participating in my first craft fair this weekend and will let everyone know how it goes. Wish me luck!! Ginny

Flower Shoppe Fun!!

OK , I finally got the pictures of the cuts from the Flower Shoppe Cartridge uploaded.  It took longer to do that than it did to actually put the flowers together.  I also cut a few leaves to try them out.  I used white and pale pink cardstock just so I could ink them any way I wanted.  On the flowers, I used Quick Quotes chalk inks and some Tattered Angels Mist on one of them.  I've got to do better with the splatter as you can see on one flower.  On the leaves I used green and brown chalk inks, then rubbed on some Inka Gold in green. I love the look of the leaves and I hope you can see the colors.  I think I love this cartridge since I love  handmade flowers.  Let me know what you think and don't forget to tell your scrap friends  about my blog.

My Second Canvas Creation!

HI Scrap Friends,
I visited Cozumel, Mexico on a cruise with my family the week before Christmas and had a BLAST!  That being said, I created an altered canvas of one of my favorite parts of the cruise- THE Beach.  I started with a 12 x 12 canvas from Quick Quotes. First, I painted the canvas with a blend of turquoise, light blue, and white acrylic paint from Anita's Acrylic Craft Paint.  After getting the color palette I liked, I let it dry. After the canvas dried I inked the edges with Quick Quotes Blue Hawaiian chalk ink and let it dry.
Next, I fussy cut clouds, the sun and waves from Bo Bunny papers "Barefoot & Bliss" and "Sun Kissed Skies."  I used the waves on the bottom of the layout and then a small torn strip of  "Corkboard" paper from It Takes Two to use for sand on the beach.  The clouds were pop dotted for dimension and outlined with Ice Stickles.  One cloud was placed below the seagulls on the left.  After mounting the sun, I outlined it with Stickles and accented the sun with some Bling from Prima.  My photos were mounted on Bazzill Cardstock and then put on the layout.  The center photo was mounted on pop dots and everything else was glued down with Beacon's 3-in-1 glue.
for the title I used glitter stickers from Doodle Bug Designs and some stickers from my stash to spell Cozumel.  I  love this project because it was our first family cruise and and everyone had such a great time.
Let me know what you think!

One of My Fave Early Layouts

This layout was done using Quick Quotes products. This is of me and my sweet grandaughter London!  Ran across it in my files and had to post it, even though I was 80 pounds heavier.  Everyone have a great day.

Scrapping Happily!!!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I  missed a few days, but I lost a dear friend to a sudden illness and was consumed with that .  My friend was only 47, a sweet Mother, daughter , and wife.  She lived for the Lord and her family and it has been really hard to lose her.  She has been like a Mother to my daughter and my daughter is having a hard time with the whole situation.  I know that God is in control and will help her family and friends to make it through this difficult period.  Continue to pray for us all.
This whole episode has given me renewed Strenght in my personal and scrap life.  I want to be on design teams, because scrapbooking and papercrafting are my passion.  I started scrapping in 2005 and can tell that I have evolved into a passionate scrapper and paper crafter.  So, I have been devoting hours after my regular work schedule to my scrapbooking.  One of my first quick projects was a reclaimed fraime (25 cents), spraypainted in Black Laquer.  I then used a cream colored cardstock from Bazzill, Doodlebug letter stickers from Hobby Lobby, Paper Studios Bling, and a Paper studios rubon.  The frame was important becaused it reinforced an important part of my life: FAMILY.  I am including a picture while I figure out how to do a slideshow gallery with some of my other projects.  If anyone can help with the gallery, please text me!!

Happy MLK day!

My family participated in MLK Community activities today and it reinforced my commitment to find strength in my daily life . If this great man was able to persevere and accomplish things that benefit us all, what keeps us from pursuing our goals? I plan on scrapping, getting on some design teams, teaching more classes at our local Hobby Lobby, and completing my second degree in Nursing! I know that's a lot, but I am determined to find my STRENGTH .
I just finished two layouts and a layout on canvas for submission for a design team call. I will post after I submit them! Wish me luck and everyone have a good night!

Christmas Mini Album Pictures!!

My Sugar Babee, better known as London, and I finally got this little baby finished.  It's hard work scrapping with a three year old, but since it was hers I let her help.  BIG mistake, but we had a blast.  She helped with the album and also helped take the pictures .  I think this type album is great when working with kiddos because she was able to help spread a little glue (OK LOTS of GLUE) and choose which papers to put on each page.  I used lots of stickers that I bought at Hobby Lobby last year, a few rubons, misc. ribbons, chipboard accents, flowers from Making Memories, and you know I did the bling thing.  On the flowers and chipboard I used my new favorite glue from The Rubber Cafe.  I am in love again!! I know, it's sad when glue makes you happy.  I hope you like the album!!  Please comment and give me some other ideas.  I will be happily Scrapping at an all day crop tomorrow and I am super excited!!  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Christmas Mini Album !

Hope this week has gone well for everyone.  I have been having a blast  working on a Christmas Chipboard Mini Album for my grandaughter.  It's actually a chipboard album with different  decorative edged pages from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I am using the coordinating  paper pad with decorative edged papers that are Christmas themed.  The paper pad also includes some solid color papers that I am using for photo mats.  My grandaughter is three years old, so she helped me get everything ready and even did a "little" gluing!!  Working with a three year old takes patience and EXTRA  glue!!  I plan on using some embellishments that I have on hand, rubons, and Bling!  Can't do a thing without my bling.  Hoping to post pics tomorrow.
Happily Scrapping in East Texas,

More Paperbag Album Pics!!

Happy Scrappy New Year!

Happy New Year Scrapbook Junkies,
2012 is finally here and I am blessed to be able to scrap my heart out.  Earlier, I stated that STRENGTH is my word to focus on this year and I have already had to find strength to help my husband through a difficult time after the death of a close friend/coworker.  I am positive that GOD will help us through  this rough patch.
On to scrap fun,  earlier I promised  to post some pictures from the paperbag albums I made using the Twinkle Toes Cricut Lite Cartridge.  Hope you like them .  Let me know what you think.

One Word!!!

While cruising the blogworld  tonight, I checked Ali Edwards' awesome blog and notice she was teaching the "One Little Word" class in 2012.  After reviewing the concept of having "one little word" to focus on in 2012 it got me to thinking.  Hmmm! What "One Little Word" is important to me at this time in my life?  And it came to me instantly-- STRENGTH.:  Strength to do what is right, strength to persevere when times seem tough, strength to live life to the fullest, and strength to continue living, learning, and loving.  I know this all sound a little philosophical, but it seems like a great idea.  To incorporate one word to every day in your life during 2012 is a challenge worth taking.

Glad to have a day of rest!

I enjoyed my Christmas with family and friends, now I just want to rest.  A nice long nap  always gets my creative juices flowing.  I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as Sugar Babee and I enjoyed ours.  I haven't scrapped this  past week due to the holidays, but thought I would share a project that I completed using my Cricut lite cartridge- Twinkle Toes.  Tomorrow I will post pics of some of the inner pages.   I  made these  as gifts for the newly elected officers of our local drill team.  This cartridge is so much fun and I can't wait to show you more projects using this cartridge.

Christmas Crafts!

I know everyone is busy with holiday preparations and the arrival of Santa (yes, I still believe).  So I thought I would post a few projects using products from the Simple Stories line.  I absolutely love their products and even joined as a consultant for Memory Works.  The card bases were cut using my Cricut and bling from my stash.  Anyhoo, hope you like the projects and can't wait for some feedback. I was in a rush, so forgive the quality of my pics.
Happy holidays,

Finally!, I can Blog and Scrap !!

Been away for a while due to family illnesses, school, and travel. All is well now and I plan on posting new projects tonight and to blog daily. I have missed scrapping and crafting but I am so excited to post some of my new creations. I am hoping to someday make it onto a design team and broaden my horizons. But, my greatest joy just comes from creating. Sharing this love of crafting through teaching makes me super happy. I have taught at the local scrapbook store and at our local Hobby Lobby store. I know these are baby steps, but you gotta start somewhere. My ultimate dream is to travel and teach scrapbooking and mini album classes. Will be posting some projects later today! Hope everyone has a happy scrap day! Gotta run and catch my favorite show "The Nate Berkus Show."

Happy Scrappy Easter!!

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I am almost finished with the great Scraproom move and I don't advise anyone to make the crazy decision to move on a holiday!! Especially when you need to dye eggs, cook for family, and worship. I enjoyed the weekend, but I can't wait to have my space organized. In the meantime I'm posting some Layout pics from a high school Freshman year memory album I completed last week. Hope you enjoy and please give me some hints for improvement and feedback.

I'm Back!!

Hi everyone, sorry about the time lapse. I was finishing up the school year and nursing a back injury. I am still in pain when I move too much, so I will make my posts short and sweet. As i said before, I am sooooo Obsessed with Fleur-di-lis. I copped a great stash from Hobby Lobby during their recent 66% off sale. I will try and get the pictures posted tonight. And I also did a cheap or should I say frugal wall hanging using my new FAVE- FLEUR-DI-LIS. Hope you like.

Another Cheap Cutie!!

I am officially obsessed with Monograms. I found this cute metal script "E" at you know where-Hobby Lobby for 50% off. So, I paid $2.00 for the letter. The wooden placque I got at the Dollar Tree, and used some leftover black cording to accent the placque. Of course, I added some Bling for the cute factor. I spray painted the placque with Rustoleum Heirloom White, glued the cord around the edges of the placque with E6000. To give the metal letter a 3-D effect I glued large acrylic rhinestones to the underside of the monogram letter. After I glued the monogram onto the wooden placque, I applied Bling to the monogram. I knotted a 5 inch length of cording and glued it onto the back of the wall hanging. My wall hanging is finished and ready for display. And it was under $5.00!!
