I'm a 51 year old school nurse, happily married to a Texas high school football coach for 30 years. I have two beautiful children and 1 gorgeous grandaughter- London. London is definitly my SUGAR BABEE! And yes, she knows it. I love scrapbooking, handcrafted or knock-off home decor, scavenging at garage sales and my local Goodwill. I visit Goodwill and other local thrift stores so much they know my first name. I am just a Mom who loves her family and her home.My husband Tommy is the love of my life and he lets me have free reign with my crafting. I am constantly learning and trying new things, but scrapping is my heart!! I love family get togethers and just hanging out at home with the family. And yes I AM A SCRAPBOOK JUNKIE!
Hi everyone, sorry about the time lapse. I was finishing up the school year and nursing a back injury. I am still in pain when I move too much, so I will make my posts short and sweet. As i said before, I am sooooo Obsessed with Fleur-di-lis. I copped a great stash from Hobby Lobby during their recent 66% off sale. I will try and get the pictures posted tonight. And I also did a cheap or should I say frugal wall hanging using my new FAVE- FLEUR-DI-LIS. Hope you like.
I am officially obsessed with Monograms. I found this cute metal script "E" at you know where-Hobby Lobby for 50% off. So, I paid $2.00 for the letter. The wooden placque I got at the Dollar Tree, and used some leftover black cording to accent the placque. Of course, I added some Bling for the cute factor. I spray painted the placque with Rustoleum Heirloom White, glued the cord around the edges of the placque with E6000. To give the metal letter a 3-D effect I glued large acrylic rhinestones to the underside of the monogram letter. After I glued the monogram onto the wooden placque, I applied Bling to the monogram. I knotted a 5 inch length of cording and glued it onto the back of the wall hanging. My wall hanging is finished and ready for display. And it was under $5.00!!
I am so excited to post my first Fabulous, frugal project. I am really into large monograms to decorate my home and office and almost fainted when My fave hangout-Hobby Lobby had them for 50% off. So I paid a whole 99 cents for each one. I used scrapbooking supplies I had at home-paper, acrylic paint, ribbons, flowers and I must have Bling!! I traced the letters onto the paper with the paper facedown and the letter face down. I cut it out inside the lines to achieve a clean look around the edges. Before applying the paper to the letters, I painted the edges of the monogram letters with acrylic paint. Then, using my newest Obsession- Mod Podge- I applied the paper to the letters. I applied four coats of the Mod Podge , attached ribbons, flowers, and Bling to make it extra Fab!! And there you have it. I love finding uses for supplies I have on hand and right now this is my absolute obsession. Everyone in my family is getting a Monogram as soon as Hobby Lobby has another sale.!! I will try to remember to take before and after pics! I did manage to get an "in progress" of the M. Everyone Enjoy and tell me what you think.
